Rapid Facility Services first began over a bacon and egg breakfast one wintry Saturday morning in Papakura. Having worked in the industry for many years, three friends, Paul Schoch, Robyn Schoch and Andrew Chan realised that by combining their skills, they could create a company unlike any other.

After all, there were three things they had that no one else had: the three of them! Their years of experience is invaluable and they knew they were on the brink of creating something truly unique.

And so Rapid Facility Services was born.

Now Directors of the company, Paul, Robyn and Andrew are paving the way in the industrial cleaning industry, providing the best possible service and knowledge in all areas of food safety, industrial and commercial cleaning.

Rapid’s specialised divisions address all concerns relating to industrial and commercial premises. Whatever the industry and whatever the job, Rapid offer teams of highly trained, efficient and safety-conscious professionals who will get the job done right, the first time.

 

Paul Schoch

Managing Director

Paul has an extensive sales background, ranging from retail and commercial products to commercial services and sales management.

The majority of Paul’s 30-year professional career has been firmly entrenched in the flooring and building services industry.

Holding safety in the highest regard, Paul is Rapid’s Health and Safety Representative.

Paul is best known around the site for his catchphrase “we will do whatever others can’t or won’t do” and he’s right! We have never come across a job that is too dirty, too high, too tight, too big or too small. We are the right fit every time in every situation.

Andrew Chan

Technical Director

After 15 years in the facilities service industry, providing cleaning solutions to major New Zealand food manufacturers, Andrew knows how to clean every possible surface and substrate.

Andrew has the skills the access anything, anywhere, at any height. He’s not afraid to work at heights or in confined spaces. With the highest regard for health and safety, Andrew ensures all Rapid staff are NZQA qualified in Hazard Identification, Elevated Work Platforms, Height Safety Advanced, Confined Spaces and Gas Detection.

Known for his smart solutions, efficient techniques and can-do attitude, Andrew has a solid reputation in the industry. His experience saves our clients’ money and he imparts his knowledge on the wider Rapid team, encouraging us all to work smarter.

Robyn Schoch

Financial Director

After 29 years in the building and FMCG industries, Robyn has the best of both when it comes to industry knowledge.

Robyn started her career back in 1988 when she began working for a building service and contracts company, Fire Fighting Enterprises (a James Hardie company). It was here that she gained her knowledge in systems, finance and cost management.

With a range of new skills under her belt, Robyn transferred to a new, fast-paced career in FMCG where she worked for large grocery manufacturers and suppliers, including Arnott’s, Hutchinsons and Trident.

Her experience in raw material management, manufacturing techniques, legislative requirements and logistics all lead back to building services and food manufacturing audits.

She would say she is the fountain of youth… others would say she’s a wealth of knowledge. All in all, Robyn looks after the money, the systems and the Rapid family.

toaToa Tahana

Operations Supervisor

Technical Supervisor, Toa, is our little ray of sunshine.  Rain, hail or shine Toa’s smile lights up the Rapid team.

Toa has a strong background in marine painting and cleaning which he mastered in sunny Nelson.  Rapid was lucky enough to find Toa when he moved to Auckland and the rest, we say, is history.

Toa takes a pro-active approach in leading his team by example with 10+ years’ experience in critical areas of painting and cleaning he is a wealth of knowledge, qualifications and calm in our fast-paced business.

Toa has a 5-year-old mini-me and is a new Daddy to the most beautiful wee daughter.

Assistant Accountant

Johanna is our accounts and administration extraordinaire. If it needs attention, a system implemented or strict procedures, Jo will get it done.

Jo has a diverse background in all things admin, from customer service to procurement management and now Assistant Accountant.  Her background is in FMCG and logistics so she understands the importance of hygiene cleaning to keep production lines going and products shipped.

Jo is a super organised mum and wife and when she’s not at work can be found crafting up a storm and making delicious hand-made soap.

 

Michael Cossey

Mike is our Grounds Care extraordinaire, with over 25 years of experience in grounds care and greenkeeping.

Mike applies the same exceptional standards required for greenkeeping to our client’s sites.  Mike’s work makes our client’s sites look great! With regular care, Mike keeps the grounds safe from overgrown gardens and lawns which can promote vermin and insect activity.  Mike has exceptional standards and a solid knowledge of plants and garden care.

Mike is an avid Lada fan, a once fiercely popular vehicle, Russian built Lada’s are now a rarity.

She has over 25 years’ experience as a commercial cleaner in hospitality, shopping malls, hotels, and large private residences.   Having been with Rapid for a short time as a commercial cleaner, Fina’s ability to train staff and achieve client satisfaction was quickly recognised.

Fina has become a real asset to our team in the commercial sector.
